An Industry-Leading Digital Art Museum

A groundbreaking digital art museum is opening this week—in rural Kansas. The Museum of Art + Light in Manhattan (an hour west of Topeka) is the world’s first museum dedicated to collecting and displaying digital art permanently. Instead of relegating it to a side room, the museum gives equal prominence to contemporary digital installations and traditional art. The doors open on November 8, with exhibits that include “Renoir: A Luminous Evolution” in The Mez, the museum’s multi-sensory immersive exhibition; and “Code and Canvas: Defining Digital Art in the Age of Blockchain,” which explores a variety of technology-driven processes and themes from five globally recognized digital artists.
