Around Kansas: Museum of Art + Light Opens This Year in Manhattan

A new Museum in Manhattan will combine traditional masterworks with digital art and immersive exhibitions. The $60 million, nearly 100,000-square-foot Museum of Art + Light complex broke ground in September and expected to open this fall.

The first of three annual rotating immersive exhibit experiences will be “Renoir: A Luminous Evolution.”

The museum will house a permanent collection of works by Rembrandt, Picasso, Miro and Renoir in addition to a diverse collection of works by contemporary artists. The artwork is [currently] owned by museum co-founders Robert L. and Tracey H. DeBruyn, Ronald Bowman and Stanley E. Zukowfsky.

The permanent collection will complement a state-of-the-art, immersive digital exhibition space, projecting larger than life-size moving images of traditional art, making it the first museum to couple permanent and digital collections together from inception, according to organizers.
